3 Reasons Android Becoming a Boring OS?

Recently, Google announced Android 15, the latest version of its operating system. However, I am disappointed by the lack of genuinely useful features. In today’s article, I will share three reasons Android is becoming a less exciting OS.

1. Fewer Features Compared to iOS 18

Compared to iOS 18, Android 15 introduces far fewer innovative features. Many brands with custom skins used to eagerly wait for the stock Android update to incorporate new features. Unfortunately, with Android 15, the features it brings have already been available in various custom skins.

For example, the ability to use a phone as a webcam—a feature included in Android 15—has been available in Motorola devices for a while now. This lack of originality makes the update feel underwhelming.

2. Gesture Issues Persist

Ever since Android 11, gestures on third-party launchers have been problematic. Despite user feedback, Google has not fully resolved these issues. This has left many users frustrated, especially those who prefer customizing their Android experience with third-party apps.

3. Customization is Becoming Less Convenient

One of Android’s biggest strengths has been its customization options. However, this strength seems to be fading. Sideloading apps has become more restrictive due to tighter Google Play guidelines, and some customization features are no longer as intuitive or accessible as they once were.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you agree that Android is losing its charm?
