Intel launched the new Intel Core Ultra 200S Series Processors, said to be the first Intel processor with a neural processing unit (NPU) for AI processing. It claims to have 36 trillion operations per second (TOPS) performance and is all set to power AI PCs. Further, the company also claims that this processor’s CPU and GPU are more powerful.

Intel Core Ultra 200S Series Processors Specifications

The Intel Core Ultra 200S processor family, includes Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF, Intel Core Ultra 5 245K, and Intel Core Ultra 5 245KF. The series contains three “K” (unlocked) and two “KF” (unlocked without integrated graphics) variants.

The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K offers a powerful balance of performance and efficiency. Featuring up to 8 Performance cores (P-cores) and 16 Efficient cores (E-cores), these processors deliver a 6% increase in single-threaded and 14% in multi-threaded performance compared to their predecessors.

They come with a built-in Iris Xe GPU and are designed for power efficiency, boasting up to 58% lower power usage during everyday applications and up to 165W lower consumption while gaming. A standout feature is the dedicated NPU, providing hardware-accelerated AI capabilities with up to 36 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) and 50% faster performance in AI-enabled creator applications compared to competing processors.

For connectivity, the series supports up to 24 PCIe 4.0 lanes, 8 SATA 3.0 ports, and 10 USB 3.2 ports, as well as Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3, making it a robust choice for high-performance desktops.

Conclusion

Intel’s new Core Ultra 200S processors are set to hit shelves on October 24th. The lineup includes models ranging from the entry-level Core Ultra 5 245K to the flagship Core Ultra 9 285K. Prices start at $294 (approx. Rs 24,686) for the 245K and go up to $589 (approx. Rs 49,456) for the 285K.

Pre-orders and sales are expected to begin on October 24th, both online and through retail channels. You can also expect to find these processors pre-installed in systems from various OEM partners.
