Bluetooth 6.0 is the latest version of the Bluetooth wireless technology standard. It introduces several enhancements over previous versions, including improved accuracy for location tracking, faster pairing speed, reduced latency, and enhanced energy efficiency.
Bluetooth 6.0 Features
Bluetooth Channel Sounding: This a new feature that enables more accurate distance measurements between devices, improving location tracking and security for digital keys. It is also expected to improve the experience of using Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find My Device networks, which help to locate devices using Bluetooth and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology.
Faster pairing speed: Bluetooth 6.0 offers faster pairing times, making it more convenient for users to pair between two Bluetooth devices.
Monitoring Advertisers: This feature allows devices to be aware of when a device of interest enters or exits their Bluetooth range, saving energy and improving security.
Decision-based Advertising Filtering: This feature is said to reduce power consumption by limiting unnecessary channel scanning. Now with this functionality the compatible devices will no longer scan for secondary channels, until the relevant information is received on the primary channel.
Isochronous Adaptation Layer (ISOAL) Enhancement: This feature is important for gamers who prefer to use wireless accessories for game conversation, as well as listen to music, video calls, and audio calls. Bluetooth 6.0 devices have lower latency for audio and video applications, improving gaming and calling experiences.
