Boat in partnership with master card launched a new feature in the Boat Wearable product that allows users to contactless payments of up to Rs 5000 using boat wearable.

Boat Smartwatch Tap and Pay Features

Boat partners with Master Card to bring the Tap and Pay features to its wearable product. With this feature, users can pay using their smartwatches to make contactless payments via Crest Pay, the company’s official app.

By partnership with Master card, it allows users to tokenize their existing Mastercard debit and credit cards, to enable the Tap-and-Pay feature users and get up to Rs 5000 via a POS device without the need to enter their PIN.

However, currently, Master card users can link their card using the select leading banks only the company plans to extend it to more banks to make it accessible to more users. This development come after the wearable market in India experienced a 34 percent growth, leading to a 73.7 percent surge in smartwatch shipments in 2023.
