For instance, if you have elderly family members who don’t own a bank account with Google Pay, you can permit them to use your UPI ID for transactions the family member can get up to Rs 15,000 monthly. This feature is launched in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
UPI Vouchers (eRupi): This is a feature launched by direct benefit transfer (DBT) back in 2021. These prepaid vouchers can be used for digital payments without the need to link a bank account. They’re particularly useful for government benefits or other situations where a pre-funded payment is required. Once you’ve added your customer details, the app will automatically remind you of your payment due dates and make payments on your behalf. This feature is being added in partnership with NPCI Bharat Billpay.
Tap & Pay with RuPay Cards: If you have a RuPay card, you can now add it to Google Pay and make contactless payments by tapping your near-field communication (NFC) enabled smartphone on a card machine to make payment. The company makes it clear that card information is not stored in the app.
