The state of Meghalaya recently launched its Government-owned OTT platform known as ‘Hello Meghalaya’ The platform was launched on 11 July by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya at the Lariti International Centre for Performing Arts and Culture. In an event where many creators, influencers, and Artists from Meghalaya are awarded by the platform in different fields.

Hello Meghalaya Aims

The Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma at the launched event explained about the purpose and aims of Hello Meghalaya. He states that the idea is to create value and a dynamic economy, aiming for these efforts to translate into livelihood opportunities and overall benefits.

He also said “It is not about showcasing talent. Yes, we have talent and we should showcase it. But how does this talent convert into a livelihood? How does this livelihood convert into different earnings for people?”

Hello Meghalaya aims to make a livelihood for the Artists, content creators, and filmmakers in Meghalaya. Empowering them by providing a platform to showcase their talent and earn income.

Hello Meghalaya Benefit

The government encourages participation and quality content production by providing substantial financial incentives. Filmmakers can receive up to Rs 5 lakhs per film, with additional benefits and funding available for projects that gain national or international recognition.

Meanwhile, the content creators could earn Rs 18,000 monthly for maximum uploads, with the earning could increase based on the view counts. The Hello Meghalaya also caters to short video and short film producers.

How to Download the Hello Meghalaya App?

The ‘Hello Meghalaya’ App is now available on the Google Play Store. Currently, it has more than 10,000 downloads on Google Play Store.

Here’s a quick guide on downloading the “Hello Meghalaya” app for Android devices:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app. This app should be pre-installed on most Android devices.
  2. Search for “Hello Meghalaya” in the search bar
  3. Look for the official “Hello Meghalaya” app developed by Meghalayan Age Limited.
  4. Tap on the app icon to view its details and reviews.
  5. Tap “Install” to download and install the app.

Note: Currently, the “Hello Meghalaya” app is not available for iOS devices. It might be available in the future, so stay tuned for updates.
