WhatsApp offline sharing feature on IOS

This feature is reported by the reputable feature tracker the WABataInfo. This feature was found on the WhatsApp beta version for IOS version 24.15.10.70. This feature will allow users to send videos, photos, documents, and other media directly to nearby devices using WhatsApp without an internet connection. This process will use device wifi and involves generating a QR code and the receiving devices will scan, similar to another file-sharing app.

This feature is expected to ease the transfer between IOS and Andriod devices seamlessly by allowing cross-platform sharing.

Impact on Andriod and IOS devices

With the coming of the feature on both devices, there will be a slightly greater impact on Andriod devices even though Android devices already have a nearby sharing or quick share feature this is much known to most of the users and it sometimes does not detect devices well and it slightly different from this Whatapp upcoming feature which the nearby share relies on detecting nearby devices.

Even though there are many file-sharing applications available on Andriod sharing files directly from WhatsApp will be much easier and faster for users.

On IOS devices it will have less impact because Apple Airdrop is stable and doing quite well on these devices.

Conclusion

While this feature is still in its early stages of development, there is no confirmed release date. It remained uncertain of when it will be available for both these devices.
