Samsung is rolling out a security update for select Galaxy devices to enhance their security. However, you won’t see significant changes in this update, as those will come with the One UI 7 update based on Android 15, expected next year. Major features, such as Auto Blocker and some security path updates will be included in the November 2024 updates.
Samsung November 2024 Update
The major features in the November update include the new Auto Blocker feature, which enhances the security of Galaxy devices. When you turn on the “Maximum” setting, Samsung will now block all USB devices from functioning, except for those used only for power, like chargers.
In addition, the update addresses various security issues, with fixes for 38 vulnerabilities in the core Android OS and 13 in Samsung’s One UI. The 38 Android OS vulnerabilities will be detailed in the November Android Security Bulletin and included in future updates for Android devices.
11 vulnerabilities discovered in Galaxy devices are rated as high-risk and could allow attackers to access data on Galaxy devices without permission, as well as cause memory corruption and other issues.
