WhatsApp currently testing a new feature on Whatsapp for Andriod this feature will allow users to translate messages into other languages, based on the information by the feature tracker WABetaInfo. The live translation feature is said to work through on-device processing and may use Google’s live translation technology.
WhatsApp Live Translation feature
The live translation feature was spotted on the Beta version of WhatsApp version 2.24.15.8. This feature works on the device, which means the data will be stored locally on the device instead of being stored on the cloud server. Through these features, users will be able to translate messages instantly on WhatsApp. To use this feature user might have to download the language packs to access the feature which is currently limited to English and Hindi language only more languages might be added in the future when the feature is fully developed.
This feature also translates might happen automatically within the chats, which means users don’t need to press any button to use this feature. According to the feature tracker.
Further, the feature is also available for limited beta users which means users who sign up for the Google Play beta program might not have access to this feature as it is currently in the development stage.

WhatsApp Voice Message Transcription
It is important to note that along with this live translation of messages, WhatsApp also reportedly developed live transcription of voice messages. This feature will allow users to generate transcription versions of voice messages they have sent or received. As per reported, this feature will appear with a new banner below a voice transcription, asking the user if they wish to get a transcription of the voice message.

Meta currently developing more features for WhatsApp to improve its users and enhance users’ experience by providing more features like live translation which can translate chat languages to voice transcripts that will allow users to generate voice transcripts to understand better the voice messages. However, this feature is currently under development and might come in future WhatsApp updates.
