Shillong: Counting of votes for the two parliamentary seats — Shillong and Tura, is underway in the capital city Shillong and Tura the headquarters of West Garo Hills, today.
As per the latest updates, Dr Ricky Syngkon of the Voice of the People Party (VPP) is leading in Shillong while Saleng Sangma of the Congress is leading in Tura.
VPP supporters are already celebrating as the party extended lead by 2,52,274 votes over his nearest rival, Vincent H. Pala of the Congress.
Syngkon has got 3,88,415 votes so far as counting is still under way at Polo, Shillong.
