AMD Unveils Next-Gen Ryzen AI PRO and Instinct Chipsets for AI and Enterprise Solutions

AMD CEO Lisa Su introduced the AMD AI-integrated chipsets at the Advancing AI 2024 event in San Francisco. The new AI chipset will compete with its revival Intel and Nvidia. This chipset will come across the company’s Ryzen, Instinct, and Epyc lineup.

AMD AI chipsets

  1. Ryzen AI PRO 300 Series: Powered by the latest Zen 5 and XDNA 2 architectures, these processors are designed for enterprise applications, offering top-tier performance, long battery life, and enhanced security. The flagship Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 375 features AI performance of 55 NPU TOPS and is already powering Microsoft Copilot+ laptops. Major OEMs like HP and Lenovo are rolling out commercial PCs using these chips, with over 100 platforms expected by 2025.
  2. Instinct MI325X Accelerators: Designed for AI workloads with advanced memory capabilities, the MI325X is set for production later this year and will ship in early 2025. The next-gen MI350 series will launch in the second half of 2025, followed by the MI400 series in 2026. These chips promise significant performance improvements over previous models.
  3. Epyc 9005 Series Processors: Built on the Zen 5 architecture, these CPUs are being adopted by partners like Dell, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro for commercial use.
