Reliance Jio launched its 5G FWA (Fixed-Wireless Access) known as the Jio Airfiber last year, which provides high-speed broadband connectivity wirelessly using the 5G technology. Since then, Jio has been rapidly growing and has been present in 5900 cities and towns throughout the country, followed by its nearest revival Airtel present in 7 cities. The other telecom i.e Vodafone Idea(VI) is yet to launch its 5G FWA (Fixed-Wireless Access).

How does AirFiber Work?

Airfiber is a fixed wireless system that uses an antenna (known as an Outdoor unit) and is set in the subscriber building where the 5G network is strong this antenna communicates with a nearby tower that is connected to the ISP’s network infrastructure. The antennas is then connected through an Ethernet cable to transmit this signal to the Router that is set up inside the house of the subscriber to use the internet via Wifi wireless or through an Ethernet cable.

Jio AirFiber provides internet connectivity to homes and offices wirelessly using the 5G technology speed up to 100mbps only, if you want higher speed you need to book for Jio AirFiber Plus offers up to 1gbps speed.

It is very easy to book a new Airfiber installation you can book through your MyJio app, Jio website, or by missed call to 60008-60008. You can pay Rs 1000 in advance to get the installation as soon as possible.

Jio Airfiber Max will give you a maximum speed of up to 1Gbps, Jio Airfiber Max works similarly to the Jio Airfiber the difference is the speed and Jio AirFiber Max use a strong antenna called the C6 device to receive a strong signal from nearby. Currently, Jio Airfiber Max is available in selected areas only.

Jio Airfiber Installation Process

And now talking about the installation it is simple after you book a new Jio AirFiber Connection the Jio representative will call you within 24 hours to confirm the location and to book your appointment then a Jio Engineer will visit your home to install Jio AirFiber.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Aadhaar Verification: You will be asked to provide your Aadhaar card for Know Your Customer (KYC) verification.
  • Payment: You will receive a payment link to complete the transaction.
  • Installation: The engineer will install the outdoor unit, router, and set-top box, and activate the connection.
  • Testing and Training: The network speed will be tested, and you will be shown how to recharge your account and change the Wi-Fi name and password.

This is the installation process of Jio AirFiber it will take 2-3 hours for installation depending on the location. If you face any problem after the installation you can contact the Jio Fiber Customer Service then the Jio Team will come to your location to check the issue and it will be free of course.

Jio Airfiber Vs Jio Fiber

There are pros and cons when using both Broadband services the Airfiber or the traditional wired fiber you will probably face problems with both of these services.
