Google Chrome Gets Passkeys Support Across Devices

Previously the feature was only available for Andriod Devices with users needing to enter a PIN code or set a screen lock pattern to log in to their Google account. With the new Update Google expanded this feature across Operating System.

However, users still need an Andriod device to set up the screen lock pattern, users will now be able to set a PIN code as well as use both the code and pattern to sign into their accounts on different devices. This feature is currently being rolled out for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android. It is also available for ChromeOS in beta. Google also stated that it will come to iOS soon.

You can create a passkey using a Password Manager. Additionally, these PINs are protected with end-to-end encryption, meaning even Google cannot access them. When adding the account to a new device, users will need to input the PIN or, if on an Android device, use the screen lock for verification.
