Reliance Jio Extends Validity Period in Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram Amid Cyclone Remal Disruptions

In the state of Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram, if your Jio plan is expired and you still have connectivity, its is because Raliance Jio announced a validity extention for the NorthEast region due to disruptions caused by Cyclone Remal.This extension is particularly for the states of Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Manipur, taking into account the difficulties faced by people during this climatic crisis.

Jio Validity Benefit

The people of these three states will benefit from Jio’s extention of the validuty period for 4 days for customers whose subscriptions have expired and who are finding it difficulty to recharge their accounts. These extention is effective from May 30, 2024, and will continue until midnight of May 31, 2024. Jio announce this to provide uninterrupted connection and ensure customers are connected to their loved one and have access to services during the ongoing challenges faced by their customers in these areas. The company claims that this extention have benefited by lakhs of customers so far.

Dept of Telecom ICR announcement

On the other hand, the Department of Telecom, Govt of India, has ordered that Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) be activated between all TSPs (Telecom Service Providers). This allows customers to latch onto any network present in the location, in case any service provider is affected by Cyclone Remal in these areas. This ensures that users get uninterrupted connection on any network to stay connected in case of any disruption.
