Airtel also rolled out its 5G network throughout India that works on Non-Standalone 5G technology. Airtel launched its 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) or the AirFiber last year. Airtel Airfiber is now available in 27 cities in the country.

Airtel Airfiber Growth Slow

Airtel’s Airfiber service has seen slower growth than Reliance Jio, which is currently available in approximately 5900 cities across India. To accelerate its FWA offerings, Airtel aims to leverage 5G standalone technology for FWA customers and deploy 5G standalone in these 27 cities.

Airtel Xstream AirFiber

Airtel Xstream Airfiber works the same as Jio AirFiber including the outdoor unit receiving network from the nearby 5G towers that include an Airtel SIM card inserted in it and the Indoor unit or the Router that connects through an ethernet cable from the outdoor unit. Airtel AirFiber currently offers up to 100Mbps speed only unlike Jio which offers up to 1Gbps speed through Jio AirFiber Max.

Airtel AirFiber currently offers three plans for Airfiber customers with a speed of up to 100Mbps and entertainment.

This is the plan Airtel currently offers for Airfiber users. The plan comes in two rental duration options for new customers – 6 or 12 months and Rs 1000 Installation fees. These charges are waived when customers opt for the 12-month pack.

How to book a new Airtel Airfiber Connection?

There are several ways to book the Airtel AirFiber: You need to check if Airtel FWA services are available in your area currently available in 27 cities only including Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, Patna, Pune, Rajkot, Ranchi, Surat, and Vadodara.

  • You can book a new connection through the Airtel website or the Airtel Thanks app: Navigate to the Airtel broadband section and look for the “Book Now” or “Get a New Connection” fill in your details like your name and location and submit.
  • If you have an Airtel store in your area you can directly visit a nearby Airtel store and inquire about Airfiber plans. You can fill out the necessary forms there.

After you book a new connection Airtel will schedule an installation appointment at your convenience and the Engineer will come to your location for installation and further process.
